My Journey

Hey, I'm Caio — a web developer with nearly 20 years of experience building digital stuff that looks great and works even better.

I got my start in 2007 as a graphic designer at a real estate company, where I ended up working with the IT team and got my first taste of web development. I was editing HTML and .NET templates, and pretty quickly realized that I had a knack for programming.

Thanks to a friend from college who was working at a big agency, I got into Flash development, and by 2009 I was deep in the advertising world. Back then, I was building rich, interactive websites using ActionScript 3, and also working with PHP and WordPress to bring creative projects to life for global brands. It was a fast-paced environment that taught me a lot and kept me on my toes.

Around 2013, as Flash started fading out, I shifted my focus to the JavaScript ecosystem. I played around with vanilla JS, tried a bunch of backend and frontend frameworks, and eventually landed on React — which became my main thing around 2017.

During 2017 and 2018, I dove into product development working at two startups — Vooper and AMARO. It was a great change of pace and gave me solid experience in building for real users, agile environments and testing.

For the last few years, I've been working at HAUS, building creative websites for some of the world's biggest brands. These projects weren't just fun to work on — they also picked up awards for both design and technical excellence, which makes all the hard work even more rewarding.

These days, I mostly work with Next.js and TypeScript, always keeping an eye on what's new and experimenting with new tools when I can. I'm all about writing clean code, building great user experiences, and pushing the web forward one project at a time.
